About the team:
The Reserves and Facilities team provides and manages a wide variety of community facilities, parks and reserves throughout the district and associated services to the community.
We're looking for a proactive and community-minded individual to help care for and enhance the parks, reserves, facilities and public spaces that make our district a great place to live, work, and play.
About the role:
In this varied role, you'll work closely with contractors, community groups, stakeholders and Council teams to support the delivery of maintenance programmes, facility operations and improvement projects.
From helping oversee parks, playgrounds, walking tracks, cemeteries and community facilities to responding to customer enquiries and coordinating contract works, you'll play a key part in ensuring our public spaces are welcoming, safe and well managed.
The role is based in Richmond and regular travel to Motueka and Golden Bay will be required.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is organised, practical and able to balance multiple priorities while building positive working relationships with a wide range of people.
Key areas we are looking for:
- You will have a recognised qualification in Parks & Recreation, or similar, with numerous years' experience working in this field.
- You'll be computer literate and have proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.
- You'll have sound knowledge and experience in managing trees.
- You'll be highly motivated and have a love for the environment.
- Experience working with contractors or coordinating projects will be highly regarded.
