Why this role?
This is an opportunity to contribute to the effective operation of local democracy by supporting elected members, governance processes and statutory responsibilities under the Local Governance Act 2002 and the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.
This role plays a key part in ensuring Council meetings, committee meetings, hearings and electoral processes are delivered efficiently and professionally.

What we are looking for:
An individual who has strong interpersonal skills in particular the ability to effectively provide information to Council, management and the public.
Strong technical skills are a must as this role provides technical support in Council chambers. You'll also have experience preparing agendas and taking minutes.
Ideally you will hold at least four years' local government, policy or administration experience in a large organisation. You'll have sound working knowledge or Local Government and practical knowledge of procedures and be able to interpret legislation. Although not essential, a relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
Your ability to manage a diverse workload, always demonstrate discretion and confidentiality will be key to this role. As well as your problem-solving skills, showing initiative and good judgement. Are you ready to use your skills in a fast-paced environment?
