We are looking for a skilled professional to provide essential financial support to cover a period of parental leave.

What your days could look like

You'll deliver key financial support including:

  • Management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • In-depth financial analysis and business partnering
  • Supporting informed, strategic decision-making across the organisation
  • Working with data and systems to drive clarity and accountability

About you:

We are open to applications from professionals with relevant post-CA qualified experience ranging from 3 years and above. Our team structure includes multiple levels of Management Accountants and remuneration will be based off skills and experience.

While we'd ideally like someone for this role full-time (40 hours per week), we're open to flexible or part-time arrangements. Please let us know your preferred working hours in your application so we can see if it's a good fit.

What you'll bring

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a relevant accounting role
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including advanced excel
  • Proven ability to manage and interpret large data sets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in either the public or commercial sectors is welcomed
  • Confidence working with complex financial systems.

The starting salary for this position is $94K - $123K. Renumeration is based on skills and experience.

What to expect after you apply

Once the vacancy closes you'll be contacted within 7 days as to whether or not your application has been successful.  If you've been shortlisted for an interview, you'll be contacted by one of the People & Wellbeing team to arrange a time to come in and meet with some of the team. 

We typically only do one interview, however depending on the seniority of the role or the role itself, we sometimes require two interviews.  For mid-senior level and team leader/manager roles, you may also be required to undertake psychometric testing.

In your interview, there will be a member of the People & Wellbeing team, the Hiring Manager and either their Manager or one of the senior member's of their team.  Our interview questions are predominantly behavioural and skills-based.

Summer Student Internships

Every year we employ a number of Summer Students across the Council to work for a period of 12-16 weeks over the summer months (mid-November to February). This is a great opportunity to gain work experience in your field of study, advertising begins early July, All applications are to be sumbitted via our website in July.
