Richmond, New Zealand

Reference: 6753845

  • Join a fun and passionate team
  • Base salary + benefits package + health insurance
  • Utilise your eye for detail and compliance experience
  • Permanent, full time position. Richmond based

About the role:

This is not your average administration role - this role directly assists in the day-to-day management of key compliance programmes across the Tasman region and its communities by owning administration for specific regulatory areas and also supporting the wider Regulatory team (including Compliance Officers) as required.

This role is heading into its busy season with annual charge audits and water-metering season just around the corner. We are looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running and can think on their feet to help these processes run smoothly. Working as part of the Regulatory Administration Support team, the role also monitors compliance programmes, gravel extraction programmes and includes database management.

About you:

It's vital that you have relevant administration experience in a large organisation, and, while full support and training in our systems will be provided, you will need to be highly digitally literate and very confident using computer software programmes with a thirst to learn new skills and be part of a team. Working knowledge of the relevant resource management statutes, regulations and procedures and other local government regulatory procedures is highly desirable.

The role is essential in supporting and advising on a variety of key Council compliance-related activities and programs of work. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for ensuring regulatory compliance, we encourage you to apply.

The perks:

This is a fabulous opportunity to join a performance and values-based organisation that invests in the development of its people. At council we offer:

  • A great team environment
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Attractive benefits package
  • Health insurance
  • A paid day off on your birthday!

Building great communities through employing great people. Will you be one of them?

Applications Close: 01 May 2025

What to expect after you apply

Once the vacancy closes you'll be contacted within 7 days as to whether or not your application has been successful.  If you've been shortlisted for an interview, you'll be contacted by one of the People & Wellbeing team to arrange a time to come in and meet with some of the team.

We typically only do one interview, however depending on the seniority of the role or the role itself, we sometimes require two interviews.  For mid-senior level and team leader/manager roles, you may also be required to undertake psychometric testing.

In your interview, there will be a member of the People & Wellbeing team, the Hiring Manager and either their Manager or one of the senior member's of their team.  Our interview questions are predominantly behavioural and skills-based.
