We have an exciting new opportunity for someone wishing to develop their planning career and make a positive contribution to our Resource Consenting team.

This role is primarily responsible for providing professional services and advice relating to Land Use consents and will include coordinating Resource Management checks on building consents, commenting on Land Information Memorandums (LIMs), and assisting with the preparation of Property Information Memorandums (PIMs).

The role liaises with consent applicants regularly, therefore high-level customer service skills and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders is required. You will have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills which will be complemented by your excellent digital literacy. You will need to have an eye for detail, especially reading and understanding plans.

While some experience of LIM's and PIM's would be an advantage, if you possess a strong administrative background and have experience working with legislation while also displaying a willingness to learn, we are happy to train you. Regardless of your level of experience, you will be someone who can add value with your collaboration, can-do attitude, and ability to work constructively and positively within our busy team.

Summer Student Internships

Every year we employ a number of Summer Students across the Council, to work for a period of 12-16 weeks over the summer months (mid-November to February). Recruitment for Summer Students begins in early July. All applications must be submitted online via the vacancy on our Vacancies page between 1 July and 31 July each year.
