Utilise your legal skills to support the Legal and Democracy Services team.

We're looking for someone to provide additional resources to cover for a period of extended leave. Based in our Richmond office, this is a great opportunity for an experienced legal professional looking to extend their knowledge.

Great job:

The role is diverse and interesting and you'll be kept busy providing solution-focused advice on a broad range of topics including local government law, public and administrative law, regulatory matters, dispute resolution and litigation, and a whole host of other challenging issues that fall within Council's functions.

You'll be someone who:

You'll be a qualified and experienced lawyer who is a pragmatic problem-solver, bringing strong interpersonal skills and possessing a collaborative approach to working relationships both internally and with external legal providers to ensure the best outcomes are met for Council.

We especially want to hear from applicants with experience in litigation management, property, contract regulatory matters, and having experience in a local or central government will be advantageous but not essential. You must also be eligible to hold a practising certificate.

Summer Student Internships

Every year we employ a number of Summer Students across the Council, to work for a period of 12-16 weeks over the summer months (mid-November to February). Recruitment for Summer Students begins in early July. All applications must be submitted online via the vacancy on our Vacancies page between 1 July and 31 July each year.
