Team Leader - Building Consents
- Seeking an opportunity to lead and influence the direction of a successful team?
- Play a valuable role in achieving our Vision - Tasman Inspired: Whakangiha Te Tai o Aorere
- Relocation assistance and flexible working options available
Tasman District Council is an accredited Building Consent Authority, responsible for processing around 1400 building consents annually. We have a busy work program over the next few years with continuing growth in the district, and this is a premium opportunity for an experienced individual to continue to shape and develop a team of nine Building Consents staff.
This is a senior technical specialist position, however, you will also need to demonstrate your capabilities as a positive and supportive leader. Your ability to coach and develop others with varying levels of experience is vitally important. This is a productive processing team that last year was recognised as the leading BCA in NZ for their collective outcome in their first year's Regulation 18 Diploma - Building Surveying.
You'll bring to the role a robust knowledge and understanding of relevant building legislation and trends, well-honed communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams. You will also have a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service to our ratepayers and other stakeholders.
In return, you get a great team to work with, ongoing professional development, a variety of challenging and interesting work, a day off for your birthday, flexible working options including remote working and a 9-day fortnight, assistance with relocation costs, and a benefits package to suit your preferences. The total remuneration package for this role is $94,000-104,000.
With lots still to achieve, you will be highly influential in setting the future direction of the consent processing team, and in doing so combining a lifestyle that others will envy, with a challenging and rewarding career. Apply now!
