As a Resource Consent Planner - Land Use, you will be responsible for processing district land use consent applications and providing support with PIM and RMA checks. While some experience processing LIM's would be an added advantage, we are also prepared to train you. You'll certainly be someone who can add value to our consent processing team with your collaborative, can do attitude and ability to work constructively with other colleagues across Council.

Our perfect candidate will have a strong resource consent processing background, including a thorough working knowledge of the RMA and district planning rules relating to land use. You will also have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate you can engage with both internal and external stakeholders of all levels and walks of life.

Summer students

Every year we employ a number of Summer Students across the Council, to work for a period of 12-16 weeks over the summer months (mid-November to February). Recruitment for Summer Students begins in early July. All applications must be submitted online via the vacancy on our Vacancies page between 1 July and 31 July each year.
