Based in Richmond in the heart of the Tasman region you'll be a valuable part of our Building Assurance Team. This is a hands-on role responsible for conducting timely building compliance inspections and taking appropriate actions where non-compliance issues are identified under the Building Act. You will also carry out building warrant of fitness inspections and work with commercial owners to ensure building safety systems are maintained.

While candidates with practical experience in the regulatory or investigative field of compliance are preferred, if you are from a trade/building background, technically minded with strong communication and negotiation skills, and a pragmatic approach we would like to hear from you. You'll be someone who won't shy away from challenges, exhibiting high levels of resilience under challenging conditions at times. You will be a solid and supportive team player, but also entirely comfortable working autonomously. A good working knowledge of the Building Act and construction experience under the NZ Building Code is a minimum requirement for this role.
